Daily Prayer and Celebration of the Word
Prayer at St Patrick's
At St Patrick's, prayer is a meaningful part of our daily routine. We use familiar prayers throughout the day to mark moments of reflection—beginning with morning prayer, followed by prayers before and after lunch, and concluding with prayer at the end of the day. Staff pray together at the beginning of each week and will have the opportunity to reflect more carefully together at special times, including Advent and Lent.
Daily Celebration of the Word
Each class engages in a daily Celebration of the Word, which is led by the pupils themselves. This practice encourages leadership and ministry.
- In Key Stage 1, children help to set the scene for worship.
- In Years 3 and 4, pupils begin to plan worship with guidance and support.
- By Years 5 and 6, children take full responsibility for planning and leading worship within their prayer groups.
To deepen their engagement, pupils in Key Stage 2 use reflection journals, giving them space to express their thoughts and actively engage and participate in their spiritual journey.
It is truly inspiring to witness our children working together to lead worship with thoughtfulness and care.
Prayer
We know many Common Prayers.
We learn different hymns as we grow older, and these can be found on the class learning pages.
