We are proud to work with all the Catholic schools across our two local authority areas, particularly as the Trust grows and benefits from the expertise and knowledge that other schools joining in the future will bring.

Jubilee Year of Hope 2025

Dear Lord,

In this Jubilee year of hope, help us to follow in Jesus’ footsteps.

As pilgrims of hope, let us go on this journey together with You to guide us.

O Lord, we pray for love and hope forever.

Amen

2025 is a year of great celebration in the Catholic Church!  A Jubilee or Holy Year is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to come back into the right relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation.  This year we are invited to become Pilgrims of Hope!

During this year, the Holy Door at the Vatican in Rome is opened:

"I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.”

John 10:9

At St Patrick's, we decided to 'Open the Doors to..' a different theme of every month throughout the year.  This helped us to celebrate the Jubilee year is many different ways.

Luce and the Pilgrim Mascots!

The official mascot of the Jubilee year is Luce - a young pilgrim heading out to find moments of hope.  We had our own little pilgrim family at St Patrick's who journeyed throughout school and to homes becoming pilgrims of Prayer, Action, Good News and Service,

 Luce in Lourdes!

Luce was very lucky to visit Lourdes with Grace and the Diocese of Leeds choir.  What a wonderful opportunity to see such a special place - the site where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to St Bernadette.  Visitors go to pray, to be cleansed of sins, to drink or bathe in the spring water believed to have healing powers, and to find comfort and peace in a sacred space.

Luce's Pilgrimage to the Holy Doors in Rome

Our little Luce was very lucky this summer... after a pilgrim visit to Lourdes, Luce travelled to Rome with Mrs Madej and completed the pilgrimage of the Holy Doors!

The holy doors of Rome are located at the four major basilicas—St. Peter’s Basilica, St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and Santa Maria Maggiore.

Visiting each holy door during the Jubilee is a powerful spiritual act, offering pilgrims the opportunity for renewal and reflection.

Luce was given a special certificate as an ambassador for St Patrick's School and passed through all of the Holy Doors on behalf of our children, families and staff.  This is an incredible honour and a truly special gift.

We are forever grateful to Mr and Mrs Madej for their love and support, and for taking us on this special pilgrimage with them.

Luce's 2025 Jubilee Pilgrim diary was compiled by Mrs Izabella Madej and the late Mr. George (Jerzy) Madej; proud parents and Grandparents of past pupils of St Patrick's Catholic Primary Academy: Ewa, Christopher, Richard, Natalie, Lilia, Elias and Isla.

Jubilee Festival of Light

 Loving God,

Thankyou for the light we have celebrated today.

Hear our Jubilee Pledge and help us to shine with the gifts and talents you have placed within each of us.

Remind us that the light inside all of us is precious: a small spark that needs care, kindness and courage to grow.

May we nurture that spark in ourselves and in one another, so that together, we shine with the light of Christ and continue on our journey as Pilgrims of Hope.

Guide us, protect us, and brighten our school community and our bright futures with joy and hope.

Amen
