"Christ in Our Hearts and Minds"

We are proud to work with all the Catholic schools across our two local authority areas, particularly as the Trust grows and benefits from the expertise and knowledge that other schools joining in the future will bring.

Introducing Mission Awards: Christ in Our Hearts and Minds as We Live Our School Mission

As our school Mission continues to grow and evolve, we have taken the opportunity to review how we celebrate success at the end of the year.  We are looking towards new ways of recognising achievement that reflect our vision of ending the school year with a celebration of hope, aspiration and the bright futures of all our students.

This year, we will award 'Mission Awards' in Years 1 - 6, with the children themselves able to vote for the person in their year group that they best think has lived part of our school Mission.

I think it's exciting to think of something new and to end the year on a really positive and happy thing.  I will be sad to leave St Patrick's, but I'm excited about High School too.

Celebrating 25 Years of Father Martin's service to the Priesthood!

"My heart is filled with gratitude for the countless blessings received over the years.  Priesthood is a gift beyond all deserving, and I remain deeply thankful for the privilege of serving Christ and His Church."
Canon Martin Kelly

On Friday 26th June, Father Martin gave us 'a very warm welcome' as we celebrated his silver jubilee with a special mass in the Parish church at the end of the heatwave.  It was a spectacular sight to see Father Martin surrounded by 35 of his fellow Priests and Canons and 20 servers, and it was truly moving to hear the words of his family and friends congratulating him on the 25th anniversary of his ordination: the day he gave his 'Yes' to God!
Well done to Chike, Sam, Onyeka and Zina for taking part in the special mass as servers.
Our children joined with Our Lady of Lourdes to create a special book of artwork and prayers showing the many ways we are grateful for Father Martin.  A selection of the works can be seen in the office windows currently, and has been printed into a keepsake.
Thankyou also to everyone who took part in our 25 acts of kindness for Father Martin, and who 'gifted' an act of kindness or service in his name.
We pray for Canon Kelly, as he celebrates twenty-five years of service in the Lord's vineyard, and for all priests, that the Holy Spirit may strengthen them in faith, renew their zeal, and bless them with continued health, peace and grace in their ministry.

Reflection

With Christ always in our hearts and minds, we continue on our mission:

Help us to serve others with love and patience;
To face challenges with resilience and faith;
To always love learning;
To be kind and respectful to others.
To contribute to a better world for all.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
